Short story though: Me and my friend are going on a 2½ months Road Trip in the USA, and we are gonna start out in San Francisco. However, we need a car, which we intend to buy in San Francisco and then continue down Highway 1 to LA, and then along Route 66.
I know they have hostels and hotels in San Francisco, but seeing as we're gonna have to find a car (which might take some time) and get the paper work done, it could prove quite costy to live in a hotel ($50-150 pr. night is quite a lot when you're on a budget. Gotta make ends meet
)
It's not only the money though, it would be cool to meet with someone from here and maybe hang out a bit, jamming and such. Plus, we don't want to get ripped off by some slack-jawed car-salesman, so would be nice to know someone over there, just for starters.
