Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Ballad Soloing #3 - classic rock phrasing by Darius Wave

Hi guys, Darek team returned in REC. I must say that I never believed that I will be ever able to play this lesson, but after a very demanding practice (I still dream all the accents and details from lesson), once again Darek showed me that he can do miracles. Darek you are absolutely brilliant!!! This lesson was as hell on earth but in the end we did it. Thank you for all your patience, explanations, your millions of feedback videos and your wise words which helped me to succeed this lesson: "we fight it because we never say something is above our level ". You are a truly amazing instructor!!!

Hi Monica!

This is so impressive! The first thing that surprises me is the warm and tasty tone that you are getting from the Jackson. I would relate that guitar to metal, but you are making it sound exactly as this backing and lesson requires it! I can imagine people of Jackson contacting you soon if you continue delivering this amazing vids.

Your playing is killer too. This is a very tricky lesson, not only because of the monster licks in the end. It includes a lot of subtle elements as it usually happens with Darius amazing works.

There are some little details regarding timing in the faster licks but really really small, and there is some room to get more of the dynamics work by Darius in the melodic sections but this is only by comparing to the original lesson. You making this solo yours, and that's what matters.

I loved this one. Well done friend!

Hi Monica this is awesome. Probably one of the most impressive REC's we've ever seen here at GMC.

I thought the hammer-on /pull-off lick performed by the little finger could have been clearer at 0:43. That's about it.

The tone is great, your articulation is brilliant. There's lots of dynamics going on with the staccato notes and you nailed them!

Those arpeggios..... they speak for themselves cool.gif
