GMC Forum _ Marcus Lavendell _ Neoclassical/intermediate Plea

Posted by: Jakub Luptovec Nov 8 2007, 06:37 AM

Hi Marcus,
I am really in love with your 3level neoclassical solo and.. in one month, our school will have Christmas Academy (kind of show..) and we will be playing there with our school band (we play rock/metal covers). And I would love to play the intermediate version (not good enough, to play advanced version - playing just for half of year, but practicing srsly:) ) of this solo as a break between softer (U2ish) and harder (Metallicaish) part of our show.

What I ask you is a permission to play it (you have full right, to not permit..) and also, if possible a downloadable backing track - I am not really shure, if we will be able, to do the keyboard part (it holds harmony with lead if I am listening correctly:-D ) on a second guitar:-D

I can only promise you, that I will not use it to any other reason and if at least a bit possible, I will send a recording, of how it sounded there =)

Hey Jakub,

Wow! I'm honored! smile.gif You definitely have my permission to play it. Thanks for asking!
About downloading the backing track - we all know that it's not allowed. But I guess it would be ok if I make a similar backing track for you, that works with that solo. I'll check with Kris smile.gif

PS. Wouldn't it be cooler if you nailed the advanced version for this show? You still have one month to practise biggrin.gif

Well, what I can promise you, is that I will make everything in my power to nail the advanced version.. but I cant say, if it will be fluid enough to play it to audience.. also.. its a bit harder to play something while standing, so you got point...
about backing track, is it possible, to do it in standart tuning? it sound better in half-step-down, but I dont have 2 guitars.. well, I am spoiled, sorry:-D
anyways thanks for any help:)

Much appreciated, thanks for your lessons:)
