Clifford Lee Burton because he was the reason why Ride the lightning and Master of Puppets are this good.

Out of interest Zakk, what made you put Robert in your dream band?
Russell Allen- Vocals

Michael Pinnella- Keyboards

Acoustic guitar = Me
Electric guitar = Gen
Vocals = Marit Larsen
Bass = Victor Wooten
Drums = Doug Clifford(CCR)
Hammond organ = Ken Hensley
Banjo = Øystein Sunde

I added a few extra instruments...
Lead guitar - Jeff Beck
Rhythm Guitar/Vocals - Jerry Cantrell, John Fogerty, Josh Homme or Jack White (why are they all Js?)
Drums - Jimmy Chamberlin
Bass - John Paul Jones
Man that would be an incredible band. Jones and Chamberlin would be a hell of a rhythm section, Fogerty is an amazing songwriter with a great voice and a good feel for rhythm guitar, and beck would be great for lead. He would probably do some rhythm stuff too and let Fogerty just sing.
The only thing about Fogerty is that I can't really see him rocking any harder than he did on his heard it through the grapevine cover - which is astounding but another option might be Jerry Cantrell as another solid rhythm/lead capable player who can sing, and would take the band in a bit of a heavier direction (while still being able to do some good ol' rock and roll too).
So basically it would be one of two bands: Kick ass roots rocking or kick ass hard rock. This is just for living musicians though, if it included deceased musicians I don't think I'd be able to choose.
[edit] I just realized that two more men would make great vocal/rhythm men: Jack White and Josh Homme (white stripes and queens of the stone age respectively).
oh my god... everyone in my bands name starts with J.. why!!? And so does my name
This is for the Death Metal side of me
Rhythm Guitars: Karl Sanders (Nile)
Lead Guitars/ Vocals: Muhammad Suicmez (Necrophagist)
Drums: George Kollias (Nile)
Vocals: Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth)
Bass: Alex Webster (Cannibal Corpse)
I am going to go with.......
Vocals Rob Halford
Rhythm Izzy Stradlin
Lead guitar Randy Rhoads
Bass Geddy Lee
Drums Neil Peart
I would have gone with Lifeson instead of Stradlin but I didnt want it to seem that I was a Rush fanatic.
I am just going with overall musicianship in their propective expertise.
I guess in that case, you can just add Rob Halford & Randy Rhoads to Rush and have the greatest band ever

My dream lineup has existed once upon a time:

However, if I had to pick something else than that opeth line up:
Vocals/guitars: Mikael Åkerfeldt and Steven Wilson
Bass: Colin Edwin
Drums: Martin Lopez
Mellotrons, organs and piano: Per Wiberg
And I'd like to put Peter Lindgren somewhere in there aswell. So yeah, a mix of porcupine tree and opeth would be perfect. Allthough, I'd rather have them as they are now, so I fail.
