Perhaps you're sitting too close to your amplifier?
Feedback is cool thing indeed but annoying if it happens all the time. So just be sure that you're not sitting too close to your amplifier, eventually try lowering bridge pickup a bit. -------------------- Youtube

I agree with Muris, if this "problem" was not there before you raised the pickup, the just lower it a bit again, only to the point where you are in control about the feedback again.

Yeah,spring(or both) probably felt off so it doesn't hold pickup any more.
