Since You really has a Les Paul type guitar, I would have go for a Fender every day in the week, since You cant get its tone from no other of the guitars You mentioned...
But if You go for a Fender, check them all out, since even that there are different models and all is supposed to sound the same in respect to the model, this is not really true. For 2000 Euros you can get a LP Standard instead of a studio.
As for LP vs Strat, they are so different. I feel more comfortable with a strat, and like a thinner neck better. Check the neck of different strats, see which one suits you best! I've got an american deluxe strat which i absolutely love, check one out if you can, try as many guitars as possible. -------------------- Guitars:

You really have to try them, but I'm going to throw my vote in for PRS. I love my strat, but I used to own a les paul too which I also loved (and miss a lot sometimes). PRS has many different models, not just HH, but several HSH, or HSS and others. You may want to check out the 25th anniversary Swamp Ash Special. PRS has entirely discontinued their whole line pretty much, and have a new 25th anniversary line out, to go with their new amps. The Narrowfield looks pretty amazing to me.

I think Strat would be a logical choice there, but you should definitely spend more time trying out several models of strat guitar. If you're interested in vintage 57 strat, for that money you can get 57 or 62 reissue strats which are the best strats next to the custom shops. I specially recommend 62 reissue, it even comes with 5 way switch, and the sound is very punchy, fat and rich.

The Narrowfield looks pretty amazing to me. these look a real nice proposition from PRS, saw davey knowles demo one and it sounded like a really thick strat type tone, lovely. Shame they'll be a huge price though.  |
