Hi, my name is Michael and i'm new here. I had to join the site after seeing how many great videos and instructors are available. since i don't have enough time or funds for classes, i'm very happy to have found something as golden as this site. I've been playing guitar on and off for a year, so i'd say i'm not exactly a beginner, but i'm still at the beginning stages. music is an obsession of mine. I've been in a couple bands, but only as the vocalist and lyricist. this time around i want to write/arrange my own music and play the guitar for them (among other things). i have an interest in any instrument, but the guitar is my first venture. I have many different influences in music (i.e. MInus the Bear, Deftones, B.R.M.C., Modest Mouse, Interpol, Stateless, Dredg, Ryan Adams, Nora Jones, etc), but my guitar influences range from Joe Pass, Clapton, Dylan, Slash, Frusciante, Omar-Rodriguez Lopez, Stephen Carpenter, Dave Knudson, etc. I am basically an open spunge and want to learn as many styles and as much as I can.
