I've been flooded with Ibanez headless guitar vids on youtube/facebook/instagram. it's a HUGE push from ibanez it seems and being embraced by the guitar community. These things better be darned good for all this freaking hype!!! Has anyone been able to get their hands on one or even talk to anyone who has?
They also make a Headless Bass version as well!! Here is that youtube kid Jared Dines called "Fake", turns out he's just way better than Mr Dines. So much so that Dines found it impossible to believe.
* I love the nerdgasm glasses on the bass player I notice they are sitting down during this as they are "bedroom" musicians I sit to record also. it seems far more common than standing up these days.

About the sitting while playing part; a lot of players started shortening the guitar strap so much that the guitar is at the same position/height as when they are sitting.
It's a nice trick to "hack" your brain into thinking you are still at the same position as when you practice at home but my friends call it "the nerd's guitar height"

I've been doing that for a very long time now. I remember struggling when I had been practicing sitting down and then having to play the same thing in a band standing up. Now I practice with the guitar so high that it sits in the same height whether I sit or stand up.

The music was cool, but not something I could listen to all the time. Manuel Fernandes is fun to listen to for a bit, but it's often very "Instagram guitarist" ish for me. That's not necesarily a bad thing, but just a trend that started happening. People creating these generally short pieces of 1 minutes or maybe a bit more. I know this song was 3 minutes, but it still had that vibe, I felt. Usually it's all very impressive technically, and it can sound intriguing and good too, but it's very different from the "standard" songs we're used to - and that comes from someone into prog rock and prog metal.
I like the headless Ibanez guitars, by the way. I wouldn't mind trying one at some point

Well said!! I really dig his playing but it's getting to the point where there are just a TON of these guys popping up and sounding very similar to one another. I do enjoy the music but it gets a bit tiresome for me after just a couple of songs and I'm ready for something else.
