Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Romain! It's great to see you working hard! This is a good take! Your timing is getting better so keep on this way! You also have to pay attention to the pitch of some of your bends. I would also suggest to hold your pick more with the tip of your right hand thumb, I think that you will get more precision.

Hey mate! This take sounds good but if you follow Gabe's advices, you can get an even nicer one! Now, about the pick holding - you should be careful to grab the pick with the tip of your thumb - this will provide angle variety and more control. You will be able to pick with more or less angle, in respect to the strings, in order to obtain a more clean attack or a more aggressive one.

Keep rocking Romain!

Cosmin

Welcome to the REC Zone, Romain ! smile.gif

This is a great lesson to learn.. in fact, any of Piotr's lessons are incredible and will teach you a lot about feel.

Your take is generally good.. no complaints. Just keep going and work on bending and vibrato, perhaps the 2 most important techniques in my eyes !

About the pick holding... as the guys say, you seem to be holding it near the middle thumb joint so you could bring the pick more to the big 'pad' of your thumb, closer to the tip. However, the other thing is that your index finger is holding the pick close to the tip. What you might want to try is to curl your index finger more so that your pick rests on the side of your index finger, between that and your thumb.

If you look at this picture, you can see the finger is curled inwards more and the pick is held between the side of the index finger and end of the thumb.

It doesn't have to be exactly like that picture but it just gives you an idea of how the finger and thumb work together to hold the pick. Hope this helps smile.gif
