GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Why All The Hate For Just Bieber?

Posted by: Mudbone Sep 17 2010, 05:19 PM

I must admit I'm not a fan of Justin Bieber, I've only heard one song of his and didn't care for it at all. I don't have cable nor do I keep up with pop music that much, so I don't really know how saturated the market is with his music. I take it he's quite popular at the moment, mostly with the teenage crowd. That would explain why teenage metalheads have a certain disdain for him - typical teen bull malarkey.

What I don't get is why grown adults get their panties in a bunch over his music. What is it about him that aggravates all you haters? I think jealousy has something to do with it. "He's got no talent, anyone can do what he does..." is what I commonly hear. I don't think so. He's got charisma and thats what the record label is marketing, and to be a diva does take talent. You may not like his prefabricated music nor his charisma, but there are millions of teenage girls that do.

There are better singers out there, that have a better voice and sing with more emotion, but he's the one that actually made it. Its unfortunate for all the good singers out there but thats the way it works sometimes. I'm sure he has worked hard to achieve what he has achieved.

If you're a professional musician you have to play music people want to hear, you can't hate them if they don't like what you like. (By the way, off topic, I can't stand all the rap I'm forced to listen to when I go out) Of course defining what is good music is another topic altogether, we won't get into that here at the moment.

This guy articulates very well a sentiment I've had for a long time.

Ah well I don't eally get it either, he's a nice kid...

and he's got mad drum skills:D

I don't mind the "Biebs". I didn't know anything about him till I saw him on Saturday Night Live. He did a snappy little pop number and was funny in a couple of skits. My kids make fun of me because I thought his last name was Beaver. If I was 15 and my girlfriend was gaga for him, I might not like him much. You are correct about his charisma. He has a squeaky clean image and is popular with the parents of the young girls. I have to admit, he is a cute little fella, but I won't be buying his cd anytime soon. The rest of the video was pretty funny.

I don't mind him, I actually kinda respect his fame and yeah he does have talent.
Young self taught singer, guitarist and drummer, just thrown into a huge crazy world of demand and yet he still does better than some of the others out there. He works himself too hard though and is clouded over by the media and image. I think that would show the bad side of anyone and be huge pressure, people also love gossip and ditching cr@p out on others which do better than themselves.

Can sing, play guitar and is a hardcore drummer (respect)
His mum turned down playboy offer (respect)
He gets girls coming up to him (even in the nude) wanting $ex and he turned them down saving under he's married (respect)
He show his true believes and religion no matter what others says (respect)

A weaker guy would of corrupted along time ago, he's doing alright.

If I make a bit of fun of him it's cause I'm secretly jealous. smile.gif

By the way, this is in no way hate for pop music or the Beebs. I just enjoy it more with metal as I'm more a metalhead.
It's meant completely as humor.

I don't hate the kid as a person(how can i? i don't even know him personally.) its just that, although i'm a fan of many kinds of music, i just don't like his music or pop music in general....just my personal opinion though biggrin.gif

Posted by: kaznie_NL Sep 17 2010, 08:49 PM

People hate him because he made so much money and fame so fast, everybody's jealous wink.gif

Posted by: Sollesnes Sep 17 2010, 10:14 PM

He got famous doing something many would consider easy, and he get's all the girls. People are jealous. Also, humans tend to be very agressive in a group, and love teasing people without getting personal blame, so a lot of people do it just for fun.

I'm kind of joking. I just don't agree with him on most things is all I'm saying. And I have never even heard one bar of anything by Justin B. That I know of anyway.

Cool smile.gif For a second there I thought this was gonna turn into a theological debate, which wouldn't be cool. This is a post about Justin Bieber on a guitar forum biggrin.gif We come here to get away from our differences and to talk about things we have in common smile.gif

I agree with this thread. People can be filled with such hate, and it turns out that Justin Beiber made it anybody who hates is wasting their time, because its useless and a waste of life.

Posted by: Vasilije Vukmirovic Sep 18 2010, 02:23 PM

I share your opinions. The way I see it, Justin is just regular kid who had luck, I believe that he worked hard to get here, girls like him alot, I don't see the problem, regular kid.
I know this Atheist guy, he has some good videos, but I believe he would kill to switch places with Justin! wink.gif

Posted by: sted Sep 19 2010, 10:39 AM

I never even heard of him until I saw all the hate threads on forums, so I checked him out, decided it was garbage and never looked again. Thing is I dont watch MTV or any of that stuff or even listen to mainstream radio stations and I still heard of him (Through the haters remember!) and checked him out on YT so if there are 10,000 other people that heard of him in the same manner at least some of them will like him and probably buy his records! So well done to all the trolls, all you're doing is making him even more successful! laugh.gif

For all the justin bieber haters out there, do yourselves a favor by not mentioning his name anymore. because he will only get even more popular if everyone keep talking about him biggrin.gif

Young kid posts videos on youtube------> Usher gives him a deal---->His song 'Baby' is the most played video on youtube--->Kid gets rich and famous---->Teen girls love him, teen guys hate him(jealousy).
That sums it up.

I don't hate him but I can understand disliking him. I'm fairly sure everything he sings about he doesn't actually really understand to a certain extent. I tend not to like younger musicians because they just lack experience and sound like children in their music (they cant help it, they are nowhere near fully developed even as a person let alone as a musician). Also, on some interview he bragged about how he could get "all the ladies", It was all over the A&E channel (which my wife watches a lot) and that made me dislike him as a person. I cant stand people who are egotisitical and cocky.

All that being said, I could care less how popular and how much money he has. Chances are, it won't last. Plus I love Metallica so I cant ever dislike a musician because of fame and money laugh.gif

@ The Uncreator

You dislike children in music? So long they don't over kill it, it's actually fine I think. Either they sound just like a girl or really spooky.

You must hate Metallica and Korn, etc, or most spooky, dark horrors and music. They should be concerned equal and just as hardcore, it's just others can force them into doing crap and they can't do much except say SURE when a cookie jar full of 5 cent coins is waved in from of their face, comon what kid would turn that down!

Metallica - Enter Sandman
Korn - Another Brick on the Wall
(etc)

Then you've got the one (mostly females) you would of never guessed the age if you wheren't looking:

Don't blame the kid's talent, blame the producers around them when they get signed turning them from someone just having fun...

Posted by: Daniel Realpe Sep 21 2010, 05:53 PM

I watched Justin on one video and from that point on I erased him from my life, it's just pointless stuff,

It's music made for teenagers, so there's no point in listening to it, only out of curiosity,

It's like asking a teenager girl to listen to Penderecki, or Shostakovich to go to an extreme, it's music designed for different types of listeners,

Yes I dislike children in music, because they sound like children, I dont dislike them personally, just I dont prefer the sound of a childs voice. Exceptions of course like the 9 year old opera singer and such. I'm not blaming them for anything, I just dont like there music.

The second paragraph I dont really understand, I should hate Metallica because they are spooky and dark? I dont follow you, either way I honestly love Metallica. I never mentioned Korn either.

Posted by: Azzaboi Sep 23 2010, 01:46 AM

I don't really like the teenie-boppa stuff, but I meant some metal/rock music including Metallica and Korn have used children in a few of their songs to give a dark spooky atmosphere. I think it's pretty cool.

Posted by: The Uncreator Sep 23 2010, 02:54 AM

Well thats different than having a child as the voice of the actual band. A child, used in a narrative or atmospheric context is different. Nightwish make great use of this is many of their song and it works to great degree. Bands like Black Tide I'm just not fond of, I can hear the pre-pubescence in their voice.
