This is a technique I only just nailed - and its hard. Do as David says, and don;t expect it to sound right straight away, it took me a couple of months at least of fairly constant practice before I started to get it. Its a cool technique though, adds a lot of maturity to your phrasing so is well worth the effort!

You must practice bending vibrato the same way you practice regular vibrato, BUT only here you must vibrate the string up and down while on the bended note. Simple isn't it? Practice all your fingers to get more control. When you are practicing bending vibrato you are also practicing regular vibrato. Have fun

a friend of mine who used to play guitar was in my room and i was just playing guitar. i asked him about vibrato and he told me that you just wake up one morning and you can do it.
now i dont know why he said that, but 2 days later i woke up and could do vibrato. i must have had a mental block on it. wierd -------------------- Guitars: Epiphone Les Paul Standard w/ Dual EMG 81 Pickups. @ skennington,
No, you're not practicing a bad technique! But it's good if you are able to bend it both up and down. @ CheeseBeard, I talk a little about this in my third vibrato lesson. Check out vid #1. -Marcus |

Check out vid #1. -Marcus Thanks Marcus, nice to know I don't have to worry about that. I am working on bending up as well. Bending with vibrato feels very natural to me. I do it sometimes when I should'nt! |
