Hi,
I've been curious about V neck shaped guitars such as Dean, etc. What are the advantages and disadvantages for this design? Are they better for lead or rhythm playing or both?
I've played C and U shape necks and was curious if the V necks were easier to play than say my Ibanez wizard II neck?
Thanks in advance.
I feel that with the V's I naturally get more of a pinch-like grip so I can use less effort to get the same amount of pressure on the fret board. It doesn't effect my playing a all from what I have seen.
Some people find V shaped necks better because of their shape. IMO it's all matter of habit.
If you don't mind waiting, I got a Dean V with a V neck en route to my house right now, I can give you a full review then. I have guitars with c necks, and I also have one with a thin U neck, I'll compare them all when I get my V.
I might take pics of my hands on the guitar so you can see any difference.
Habit and taste, human can play same thing on both shapes,
no advantages or disadvantages,fully individual.
I have warrior shape on my guitar and i dont find it to cmfortable to play in but it works..... I am going to buy a new guitar later this year with a normal form
