Posted by: Fran Jun 13 2016, 10:06 AM

Just a short note to acknowledge Todds amazing work along the past SIX years (has it been six already mate?), with well over four hundred LIVE lessons. For those interested there's his HUGE thread, and if you feel like browsing any of them a bit easily just check this wiki entry:

Todd's had a huge impact on my playing and practising.... all hail the mighty T-Man smile.gif

Many Thanks!!! smile.gif I must say it's been my privilege and honor to be part of the GMC community for more than half a decade now. I've poured most everything I know in to these 400+ lessons. I have been guiding players through the lessons Via my SHRED BOOTCAMP (just send me a personal message if anyone wants to join up!) and of course folks can go through on their own.

It's a collection of lessons designed to prepare you to play with precision and therefore, speed, but also hopefully with control and a sense of harmony/melody.

FRAN: has been instrumental (pun yes) in creating the WIKI for these lessons and giving them a place to live and I can't thank him enough for his help!! Also, let's not forget our founder Mr. Dahl, who created this entire playground for musicians to come, learn, and thrive. You guys RAWK!!!!!!!

Todd

Todd's Shred Journey does remind you that if you can't play a simple lick up to speed how can you expect to do something more complex up to speed.

it's true, no pain, no gain.
In french we said -"no arms, no chocolate !"

Bingo!! That's the point smile.gif Once we can string four notes together with precision, then we can move on to 5. Starting with 200 is often a bit much for the hand to absorb. Of course, I'm not saying not to try it as it's a great way to force the hand to adapt. It's just not what we start with in bootcamp. I try to break everything down to physical fundamentals of play and then get crazy later on smile.gif

Is that really a phrase in France? I think we should make a Tshirt!!!!! smile.gif

You have to help us with the cultural translation a bit! smile.gif No arms no chocolate? Does it mean if you have no arms you get no chocolate? or if you dont' work out your arms you get no treats?
