Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Jazzy Blues Phrasing by Piotr Kaczor

My second REC. This time a little more jazzy and melodic. Hope you enjoy it.

Hey there mate!

Great tone and feeling there!! The things that I would insist upon, would be the accents smile.gif Notice how Piotr accents the notes in the main melody? You are playing them a bit too even but it's only a detail, which of course makes a difference at this level biggrin.gif

And the faster licks, such as the one around 0:35 could be a bit more rhythmic smile.gif

Good work otherwise!

Cosmin

This is a solid performance. The main thing I think you could improve is bending. This aspect is a little bit weak. It sounds as if you're bending up but your fingers can't hold the strings so the bend comes down very quickly.

I'm not saying that is the truth, but it's just what it sounds like smile.gif So try to get more control in your bends, would be my advice.

Good work !

Hi mate! This is a very good take and the cool thing is that there is still room to improvement. I think that the next step is working on feeling, dynamics and groove. That's where I find the difference between your take and the original lesson. Compare both takes having in mind this and you will notice what I mean.

Keep on the good job! smile.gif
