Hey, I've noticed something that no one ever talks about is acciaccatura. An actual definition for this term can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appoggiatura#Appoggiatura. An example of acciaccatura on guitar is when someone does a hammer or pulloff on a note a note extremely fast, like in One solo or Fade to Black. I was thinking if an instructor did a lesson on this and/or other musical ornaments, it would be really sweet because they spice up your playing a lot.

Looks like a nice idea Shellshock though I'd ask that it be extended to cover grace notes and ghosts more widely.
To some extent there are grace notes in some of the lessons, albeit not the specific form that you're asking for though. I'm not sure how easy it is to teach grace notes in practice - in theory it should be fine - as to some extent, to me, much of grace notes and ghosts comes down to developing a feel and a 'voice', nonetheless if anyone can I'm sure the guys here can smile.gif .

BTW anyone interested - if you listen to a good sax player you will hear a lot of grace and ghost notes cool.gif .

Cheers,
Tony

Excuse me shellshock, isn't that a trill? I've read the page but I can't manage to distinguish these acciaccature and appoggiature with a trill. And the best part is.... we've already got a trill lesson and it's awesome!!! biggrin.gif

Trills normally are the note and the upper grace note played more then once by rapid hammer and pull off Freebird - and yes there is a great trill lesson on the site smile.gif . The acciaccatura involves the grace note being played once.

Cheers,
Tony
