GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Any Singer In The House?
Posted by: Gabriel Leopardi Aug 6 2013, 02:02 PM
Hey guys! I was checking my last lesson based on Millencolin Style and I was thinking that it would be cool to use it for a song. There are many other lessons that I did that can be seen as mini songs, with some structure work we could have the whole song. I was thinking that maybe any GMCer would like to write lyrics and/or sing on one of my lessons and we can create a song for sharing here.
Singers are invited but also guitarists that would like to experiment with their voices.
We can do the whole process here to share how we convert the lesson in a song.
What do you think?

I think there are a few of us singers, but it might be a good project to link with Cosmin and Christian as Cosmin is helping him with his vocals
Posted by: Gitarrero Aug 6 2013, 06:58 PM
I'd be very interested in this as I am experimenting with singing and writing punk songs at the moment
Posted by: Cosmin Lupu Aug 7 2013, 08:26 AM
Christian, if you're in - let's make a duet

this would be a dream come true! We could be Elton John and George Michael of GMC!
Uhm
maybe there are better examples though.

Awesome!! So we have a Gitarrero + Cosmin duet!! This will be amazing. Here I will share the audio of the lesson where you could record/experiment with vocals. Then we can give it a song structure and maybe get some GMCers that provide guitar solos.

I would really like to work on the final mix the week of August 26th. Is it ok for you?

I think so, yes - Christian seems to have a chorus line, as he boasted in last night's v-chat session - he'll send it to me and we'll start from there

Aha....I boasted...everyone can read this, Cosmin!!!
in fact, I have a melody in my head, but no lyrics yet.
ok, some lyrics:
sixtuple meat burger versus Gabriel,
one of the two is gonna end up in hell!

That is a subtle assumption that hell is found in Gabe's stomach, you know...

That is a subtle assumption that hell is found in Gabe's stomach, you know...
It is actually, haven't you heard?
"The burger ascended deeper down,
to murder the demon and take its crown.
In Gabes belly the demon slept,
unable to awake him the burger wept.
He waited and waited for many years,
the cheese went sour and it shed some tears.
When the demon came out of its beautysleep,
the burger got scared and started to weep.
It had teeth the size of a huge kite,
devouring the burger in a single bite.
The big bad burger is now no more,
and the demons are rocking on hells floor."
...and that's the story of Gabes belly and the burger that wanted to be a hero...
True story, I promise

Of course we can use these lyrics!
Maybe a repaeating chorus would be cool...I will try to make something up that fits to the verse lyrics.
Or audiopaal can do it, since the lyrics are yours

Don't forget to send the recording to me as well mate

No worries!
I'll have to wait until tonight or even tomorrow to record something, my voice is a little sore since I went to a football game yesterday...and...well, I'm not a quiet person when I'm in the stadium

A repeating chorus would be cool. We can both try to come up with one, and you can use whatever one you like most :-) If some of the lyrics don't fit, let me know and I'll rewrite it :-)

yeah, we will definitely extend the structure of this one. The audio that I uploaded has:
Intro
Verse
Pre-Chorus
Chorus
I think that we could add:
Verse
Pre-Chorus
Chorus
Solo
Chorus
So the final structure would be:
Intro
Verse
Pre-Chorus
Chorus
Verse
Pre-Chorus
Chorus
Solo
Chorus
What do you think?

Sounds pretty solid to me mate Let's go with this one!
Posted by: audiopaal Aug 11 2013, 07:41 PM
Sounds good Gabe
I'll wrap my head around making the rest of the lyrics tomorrow.
Cosmin and Gittarero can adjust/change them as they please to suit the song

This sounds great! Thanks Paal for the lyrics!
I'll post a version with the whole structure but feel free to upload vocal audio takes!

Yesterday, I listened to Guitarrero's take on the lyrics and I will try to come up with a cool chorus part - as I told Christian, we need to make it so contagious, that all of GMC will sing along for months
Posted by: Gitarrero Aug 12 2013, 10:22 AM
we also have to shoot a cool video!
So Gab, you have to go and eat that quintuple burger and have your brother film this adventure

Hey guys - here's my chorus idea
Take a mouth full and hold on tight
It's not the end it's gonna be alright
Gabe is having a blast inside
We all know it's never enough so pray for your life
I already sent the draft to Guitarrero and if he agrees with it - I will record backing vox as well and post the result for your ears as well
