Thinking about buying the Boss Dig Delay DD7! Anyone try this pedal out? Is it worth the buy?

Hey Tom - I have used it - tested it more likely - and I think it is a good one! It's sturdy and it delivers, but what do you want from your delay? That's a good question as well wink.gif

Hey Cosmin, I really like the overdrive on the Blackstar amp so I don't need a distortion pedal but I love having a bit of delay in my sound. I know I could use a more basic delay pedal because the DD7 has the looping function and a bunch of features I probably wont use! Any recommendations? You recommended the Blackstar amp and that worked out awesome smile.gif

You have to consider one think - digital delays are usually great if You want some perfect repeats and use it like Nuno Bettencourt did in the intro to "he-man woman hater" but If You sarch for a dealy which should make soft background under the solos, than the analog delay would be a choice of many players. Analog type of delay is less overdubbing as a solo background smile.gif

The Line 6 DL 4 is also a good choice - I know that many famous players have it in their rig wink.gif

I always have to have 2 delay pedals or modules in any of my setups a digital one for rhythmic delay stuff and one to add space and width

I agree with Darius about using both digital and analog delays for different situations. As Cosmin sai, Line 6 DL4 is a good option because you can program analog and digital delays in the same device and go from one to the other easily and fast. You also have the "tap tempo" option which is very useful to set the delay to the song's tempo.

no problem! I'm curious about the end of this story. Tell us then which one you get and your experience with it!

Hey Gabe, most likely the Line 6 pedal, watched a few videos and reviews. Really does it all smile.gif

Somehow I was sure you would go for it - the only downside to it that I know of, from my friends who use it, is that it eats up a bit of signal.. But it's a matter of what amp, cables and setup you have, I think - try it first tho smile.gif That's what I'd do!
