if you have around $600 for a 18 watt (or louder) amp to be used from blues to metal (but mostly hard rock to metal), what would you get? i'm considering line 6's spider valve 112 (or 212 pre-owned) or a tube amp kit but there's not much reviews and soundbytes on the kit and it might be around $800 if you include cabinets or speakers. i'm aware you can't get a true plexi or a rectifier's sound from a digitally modelled amp but for $600 i'm really considering it. also, i've assumed since this is a tube amp, once cranked they really give a nice tone. might be one of the reasons why it received some bad reviews.

main purpose would be for recording (mic'd), my experience is limited to direct recordings so just wanted to give it a try (both direct and mic'd). the spider valve's flexibility is heavily influencing my decision for a buy. what do you guys think, any experiences with this amp or do you guys know something better for its price range?

thanks in advance.

hi all,

just trying to get back into playing after 12 yrs (played for about 2yrs until an accident), it's been more than a month now since i took out my old guitar from it's case. forcing myself into building amps, learning to relic guitars, hanging framed pictures of famous guitarists (including jenna jameson holding a jackson, she's not a guitarist btw) and a new bookshelf for my old guitar books and videos (lol) just to keep playing. what i'm really trying to say is that inspiration is becoming harder to find as time goes by, all my previous attempts were all futile. for the past weeks, i've been trying to find a good guitar community that offers lessons as well since i consider myself stuck in pentatonics. i've been checking GMC the last few days and wanted to be part of the community and hopefully contribute something in the future. what got me into subscribing are the extra lessons aside from guitar playing - hoping there will be more of these. so that's it, thanks for giving me the oppurtunity to be a member and looking forward to be infinitely inspired.

p.s.
btw it's a great day to join, i noticed it's the special day of luciana (happy birthday!). out of topic but does anybody know where to find their cd (bi-polar by cirse) here in the US? is it available in stores, i've tried even ebay and amazon but no luck or is it available only in south americas? tyvm.
