Lets get started Roman!
In your guitar CV you mentioned theory and harmony as your main weakness. We will today start from very beginning in theory and harmony. Here is your 1st assignment! Theory reading : - I would like you to read my posts from links provided below. - Once you read it all, memorize 3 and 4 part harmony in C major scale. - Learn to apply scale degrees rather then numbers ( I in C major is C, IV in C is F etc). - Write out in this thread all notes for 3 and 4 part harmony in C major scale. Time limit for 1st assignment would be a week from now! (13th of September). Here are the links : Major scale harmony and chord functions Cadences I would also like you to answers questions bellow : 1) What is scale? What defines it? 2) How do we create chords in Major scale (for example)? What interval is used to build chords? 3) How many notes does Major scale have? 4) How many modes does Major scale have? 5) Name all the modes in Major scale. 6) Name formula of Major scale using half steps and whole steps. 7) How many types of triads (3 note chords) we have in any major scale? Name them. This should be enough to get us going! You can send me answer to those questions via PM as I will give this small test to couple of guys here on MTP. I don't anybody to cheat and copy answers from each other! Let me know if you have any questions Roman, I will be more than happy to help out! |

That's cool:D One quick question what is meant by minor7b5. I don't know what the b5 does. b5 stands for interval of Diminished 5th. That interval is also known as TRITONE or Augmented 4th. I did lesson on it in my interval series. Check out complete interval series on the link HERE Minor7b5 is basically Minor7th chord with lowered 5th of the chord |
