I've used a pod before with my guitar and it sounded good, but I didn't get to really really use it.

What do you think of it if you own 1?

Also...it really interests me that it claims to have vocal abilities as well.

Anyone recorded vocals with it?

hey there kyle, I have used the pod xt live. It has tons of effects and distortions and really crisp cleans which most sound descent. It really sounds great through PA`s ,keyboard amps, basically any amp with no character or a bypass. The only downfall I`ve found is you have to download or use the line 6 edit on your computer tomodify your tones. S ounds simple if you preplan your arrangements, however if your playing live and say you want to kick in your wah effect well if you didn`t preplan your channels you`ll have to do next time. recording , practicing I feel its pretty useful . live preformace I will probably use the stompboxes just my opinion kivler

you dont need to use Line6 Edit to modify your tones.
you can quite easily do them using the POD's own little screen, the POD X3 is even easier to use than the XT.

i recorded this track...

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...c=11047&hl=

the acoustic guitar was put through the X3 with a little reverb and a tiny bit of EQ.
the vocals were done using the X3 factory vocal patches and then added a little reverb using the recording software

Im also looking into getting a POD3 and would like to know the good and band points

I was told its basically a glorified POD with a screen, is this true?

NO!
pod X3 has sooooooo many more features, obviously if your just after a normal multi effects for guitar ONLY and nothing extremly special... go for the XT instead

if your after multiple outputs, 2 processors (can process 2 instrements at a time), more effects and models, the ability to use vocals and bass, guitar padding and an easy to use interface...
go for the X3

I've got an X3 that both the bass player and I run through direct to the PA. Really helps clean up a small stage.

They're great for recording, too.

Did my first gig without an amp last night. I just used the X3 live and was reasonably pleased with the results.

It would have been better with an amp or if the venue had a better PA, but the sound was definitely good enough not to be a problem.

Normally I'd use my amp as well (as i really love my amp) but I wasn't able to transport it to this venue.

Thank you X3 for saving the day biggrin.gif

I was wondering if anybody nows if the normal version of X3 (not the live) has the possibility to be conected to a foot controller.

I was thinking of getting the POD X3 Live or the Digitech GNX4. I can't decide which to get.

Digitech GNX4 has a built in 8 track and midi drum machine
Tons of amp mods and effects

POD X3 Live has lots of mods and effects as well
Had dual processing as mentioned

Anyone have experience with both? I heard there is a little delay when switching between effects on the X3 live, but the dual processing would be nice to have. The built in 8 track that you can record without a PC is awesome on the GNX4, records to an SD card and then you can mix it on the PC after......
