Eric Krasno ("Kraz") is the one in the hat, taking the first solo. He's the one that is not John Scofield.

I REALLY just want to learn to funk-shred like at 0:36. Slowed it WAY down last night in Audacity, and still not certain if I'm getting it right. If any instructors out there feel like helping out, I will love you forever (NOT "long time"! ohmy.gif ).

Man that is some gooood stuff, cool.gif I really enjoy these kind of Bluesy/Jazz/ R&B jams where everyone gets a turn to step out. smile.gif So first of all thanks for sharing! smile.gif

Sounds like some Gmin Penta/Blues with a Dorian flavor.I didn't slow it down to make sure but running thru it a number of times that fast part from 37 secs in sounds like two notes followed by a couple decending quads into a decending double triplet and then another quad, then into two pairs of decending fives that begin with hammered on double stops where the repeated pair is phrased slightly different than the first in the second set of five notes. blink.gif That only gets you to about 41 secs in laugh.gif . killer phrasing right there. I hope you can get it nailed man thats a killer jam! cool.gif
Sorry this probably didn't help as much as you may have liked but maybe it will help on the phrasing end of it at least.
