Stay focused when practicing ... Sounds like a simple concept, but I know that I am guilty of goofing off when I should be practicing. GMC in particular is always a huge distraction ... -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

It is hard to stay focused when things are distracting, specially the computer and TV. Practicing in a complete silence is a way to go imho. That's why I mainly practice at night (that and I don't have the time during the day )

Couldn't agree more, when in total silence and focusing on muting the strings - it can do wonders for the tone!

The better way to practice focused is to practice in little pieces make little pause between exercises (imho)

This is very important...One should practice and concentrate..Goofing and just playing stuff , rather being focused on something that you need to practice is bad...And we all tend to "wander off" sometimes...

I know the feel, usually I sit in front of PC,watching the screen and doing some chops.
