Well, following the tip of Toni in his last lesson, I would like to exchange tones with other POD XT users.

I'm mainly looking for tones for solos, but I'm very curious to see the tones other folk prefer.

I leave here my favorite ones, hope you enjoy.

Heres a Lead Tone I've been tweaking on. I have actives so you may need to play with the settings a bit to get it to your liking.

Ok, I have 4 tones that I use the most. First it is E. Vuorinen 2. This tone is based on Emppu Vuorinen's sound on the End of an Era DVD, especially on the first track, Dark Chest of Wonders. Then we have Good Memories, the one I use the most for blues and other genres where I need a clean/crunch tone. Power is a tone with a little too much drive for my taste tongue.gif Shred is the one I use the most for soloing and shredding. I like it because of its kind of choppy tone smile.gif

So it gets: E. Vuorinen 2 for rhythm guitar, Good Memories for clean/crunch, Power if I just want to lose it tongue.gif and Shred for soloing.

Here's a XT bundle for ya... It's really a bundle I downloaded from a guy called Syntax Sinner, I think many of you xt:ers have this already...
The tones are nicely arranged in Clean/Crunch/Rhytm/lead and have nice loud volume without the fizz and hum many downloadable tones seems to have... Still some are very metal...

Here is my favourite tone for the PodXT, I've been using mostly.

Heavy Metal/Rock Lead - Matt Lead_id989

Try it out! (all credit goes to Matt for making it)

POD XT - Custom Tones

Well honestly 70% of tones available for the Pod XT kinda suck, the other 30% are real gems or sound like the actual band! So I've been searching for some better tones to full in my collection. It was still quite limited even tweaking them... so I finally decided to splash out for the model packs.

Metal Shop
Collector's Classics
FX Junkie
Power Pack (comes with you POD XT)

Getting those really boosted (what was already on there but you needed to buy an expensive key to unlock dry.gif ) high gain, more amps and effects. I'll recommend them. I guess in the long run it saves on buying a number of pedals to get the right sound.

The 'Metal Shop' makes a difference for rock/metal, this is worth it and what I was after! cool.gif
The 'FX Junkie' is cool fun effects, but I've never really played much music with most of them, it's more play around or to mix in.

The model packs had new factory presets (to download and replace), so unless you can teach me how to play a song on the 'Useless Alien' tone (fun, wacky, but overall useless as the name suggested), and some of the other random ones... I might go through and sort them all again with rock / metal / blues / bands / etc.

Share your best POD presets!

For the standard tones and other user uploaded tones...

Original / Model Pack - Factory Presets:
http://line6.com/customtone/help/factorypresets.html

Line 6 - Custom Tone (User posted tones - some good, some bad):
http://line6.com/customtone/browse/podxt/

Here's a few I like to start off with...

Matt Lead (my favourite metal tone before I got the packs):
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st&id=14930

LINE 6 POD xt Presets by Lian Gerbino (some of these are awesome, thx Lian):
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...showtopic=17827

Pink Floyd Pod XT custom tones (Floyd fans eat your heart out - requires model packs thou):
http://www.dueymoore.com/pod_xt_patches.html

Anyone else use the Pod XT and have some favourites to share? With or without the model packs.
