Hi Instructors! This is not the most perfect REC, but I have to share this one ! I have a lot to work with my vibrato/bend technique

Hi there man - it's always good to see someone do one of Piotr's lessons. They're very rewarding to learn.

You've got a decent foundation of technique, you just need to refine three elements:

1. Bending: This mainly comes down to pitch accuracy first. If you can improve this then you just have to develop more finger strength. You see many good players who can bend but can't hold onto the bends for very long. This is a question of finger strength. So develop those two aspects in tandem to tackle the issue of bending.

2. Vibrato: You have a vibrato already but you just need to work on making it sound more even. Make sure you allow the string to bend back to the starting pitch - this makes the note sound in tune even when adding vibrato. Also work on practising a subtle vibrato with less bend in the string. This will be more appropriate for ballads like this.

3. Timing: Relax a little bit with the timing as you often rush slightly. You've got plenty of time in this song so there's no need to speed ahead at any point.

If I were to sum up your approach I would say that you have a good sound if you were playing a more up tempo track, something like a Poison or Motley Crue track. But this track is a lot more subtle so the vibrato can be more narrow and the picking less aggressive. Try to tie the phrases together so there's not so much separation between the notes. Some of the lines sound too staccato compared to Piotr's. Listen to the last run of your take and the last run of his to hear what I mean.

I think that Ben has summarized the three most important elements that this lesson covers and that you need to work on. This doesn't mean that you are doing the things wrong, but there is room to adjust each of these techniques that are very important and usually left apart by guitar students.

How to work on this?

Well, on one side, playing along with the original lesson will help you for bending and vibrato, and also for checking if you are playing the phrases with the right rhythm. However, playing over the backing track is the ultimate method to get better at timing, and to develop your own style on bending and vibrato.

You can also complement this work with some extra exercises that cover specifically vibrato and bending. Ben has great ones but you can contact me if you need suggestions.

Hey there! That's the type of tone Piotr will love to hear in his lessons You took the time to descently tune the guitar - that's a plus for you. At some spots timming is a little off but just slightly - I know it makes a little problem to match it perfectly when you have no precise drums. Just relax a bit and don't try to be too perfect and I think it will come out naturally When you bend you tend to overbend a little - especially when you add vibrato on bend or you finish sustain of bent note.

Aside from this it's a really good take and you can be proud of yourself
