GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ I Made It Into The Finals!

Hey folks!
I just checked http://www.guitaridol.tv/entries/2009/finalists ,
thank you once more for votes cause
they surely helped a lot!!!
Now lets hope that rest of our GMSers
will find a place in the finals as well, best of luck guys!

I have be listing (agian) to the Final Dance this a such a great entry.
I has much different techniques and melody lines it is a great piece.
Maybe you can make a few GMC-lessons on the main theme (or other parts or the whole piece)
I think GMC would like that a lot. Myself in the first place

Jeez, it`s almost impossible to make a chord progression that is not used by anyone.. I highly doubt that he "stole" it.
Seems that guy from Chile allmost all the time trying show how fast he is
He`s good tho, not surprising.

I thought your play was top notch. I was impressed with your play.
I would rank you and the other two on the page this way.
Technical Skill Level
Muris 10 perfect
Guy from Chile 8 (backing hides flaws, but there are flaws in his technique)
Guy from Hungry 5 at best
Spirituality/Human Emotional element
Muris 10 really moving
Guy from Hungry 2 (I would have voted higher had I been a Chimpanzee)
Guy from Chile 1 (I would have voted higher had I been a robott)
Composition
Muris 10 Original, excellent
Guy from Chile 5 (decent but nothing original)
Guy from Hungry 3 (I am being kind, very predicable, but I like Green Day, I like simple stuff)
And as I would expect, currently the general audience are casting votes 10 to 1 in favor of the other guys. Don't cast your pearls before swine.

Is the winner just decided by a panel of judges or is there "audience participation"?

By judges only at the finals.
But it can be tricky with judges tho,
per example last year there was a lady in jury,
she works in marketing dept at EBMM,
her comment on my playing was
" song was too confusing and he was turning his back on the audience".
I guess she didn't even realize what was going on on the stage.

True - but one things for sure: You don´t have to compete against someone with everyone in all of Brazil or South America in general voting for them - if it were an audience based voting!
So I think you should be really confident about this, as your song is so great!

That's what I thought too when I saw the video the first time....you really need to work on your stage presence Muris...

Hey Muris......make sure you confirm your "after performance plans" with the drummer BEFORE you go onstage this time.......that way you won't get downgraded by the judges for "turning you back to the audience" during your performance......
