Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi guys,

I just recorded a take for this cool rhythm lesson by Lian. I picked this lesson, because I recently changed my pick-holding position (from tip to the side of the index finger) and realised that I can alternate pick much faster now. So I wanted to try this fast picking with this lesson.
In the past, I often got the feedback that I use too little gain. Now with this take, I might have used too much gain, but I let you be the judges of that.
Recorded with an Ibanez guitar, a V-amp 3 and a webcam.

great take man, sound is much better and fast picking has improved a bit.
pay attention on this: look at your video. while you are playing the fast picking part, right before the powerchords, you can see how you move your hand to the powerchords without finish the picking part. got what I mean? you have to end every part, before to jump to another, pay attention on this and you'll improve a lot on timing and tightness.
beside this, it was a great take man! on one of my favs lesson smile.gif

take care!

I agree with Lian here. Another suggestion I can give is to use a DAW instead of a webcam, the whole take will sound a lot better!

I agree with Lian about finishing each phrase. It isn't technical issue, you just have to pay attention that's all!

Lian said it all! I personally like your new picking technique. The way you hold the pick is much healthier smile.gif

Pay more attention to your timing (I know it has been said before, but I must repeat it)

Cheers
