Guys,

I'm more or less decided now that I should go for a Boss GT8. I've looked at Pod's and other such stuff and I think I'm swung on this one.

My type of music is prog rock, so I like clean sounds and sweet warm distortion etc and not so mucj the grundge hard metal sound (although I think Boss seems to handle these quite well!).

So - final call. Anyone want to tell me I am mad and don't buy a GT8!

Credit card in hand and I'm shaking!!!!!

Cheers

Hi guys,

Anyone seen a good tab for the solo to Don't Believe a Word (Thin Lizzy)?

I've searched and I can only find ones that cover the main chords and not Robbo's solo.

I went to see Limehouse Lizzy recently and they were awesome.

I didn't think I'd like tribute band but I was wrong.

Since then my own band has tried to add a few Lizzy tracks.

Anyone know how to get that Lizzy sound?

I've tried tweaking my zoom505 (don;t laugh please. I;ve had it years and it's ok for what it does) but I just can't get their sound out of my guitar.

I'm thinking of a Boss GT8 next. Maybe I can program that to get their unique sound

Guys,

Not sure where to post this and maybe this is the wrong forum because it's not really gear I;m talking about.

I'm in a three piece band (2 Guitars, 1 bass). We use a drum machine (usually Leaf Drums software) to put together drum tracks for our own songs.

However we like to play covers. For example tonight we added Don't Believe a Word by Thin LIzzy to our practice.

I am wondering if you can buy drum tracks for well known songs such as this?

I've seen play along tracks that don't have vocals or lead guitars before but I am wondering if you can actually buy tracks of just the drums.

Anyone know of such a thing?

Thanks

Mike

Thanks to a lot of people on here I have been working towards upgrading an old Les Paul copy I have. In fact it's my only guitar and it has tremendous sentimental value so I've been unable to bring myself to replace it.

Anyway with great advice from you guys I purchased some Seymour Duncan Phatt Cats and with some fear I decided to fit them myself. Again your were all fantastics at pointing me to the various great tutorials on doing this.

So today. Soldering Iron in hand I finally got on with it ans swicth the pickups.

One word - Awesome!!

What a fantastic sound and sustain.

So, to let the other two guys in the band know that I've fixed up the guitar I put together a short video to send to them(they both have great guitars and so I was the poor cousin of the band!).

I thought you guys might enjoy it.

New Pickups

Cheers
Mike
