Hey Guys,

It might seem strange posting a musicians ad here but anyway... smile.gif

I just wondered if any of you UK based guitarists know of any bassists or drummers that would be interested in joining a South West UK Metal band, The Reckoning ?

This is the suspicious looking crew in question:
www.myspace.com/thereckoningband
www.youtube.co/user/TheReckoningOfficial

What we're looking for is someone ideally in their 20's and able to drive (or at least travel)

If you know of anyone that might fit the bill then it would be great if you could let them know about us. Thanks everyone cool.gif

this is such a shame, as I`ve said to you before, it really shouldnt be as difficult as it is to find the right people.

shame you live too far away, I`d at least help you out with some Bass duties, but then again, I`m not in my twenties! sad.gif tongue.gif

Hopefully you'll find a bass player soon. It's a bit harder then with guitar players though. I would love to help if you wish to "import" one laugh.gif

Very good group and like Chris has already said it´s a real shame that they´re struggling to find a new bassist and drummer.

I hope you find some good folks soon Ben. The band was getting some goog traction it seemed. Sorry to hear a couple of folks didn't work out. I feel your pain. If it's not the wife, girfriend, alimony, school, kids, pets or plumbing, then it's something else. smile.gif There are all sorts of reasons for band mate swaps. I hope the ones you get are better than the ones you lost.

it's very difficult to find the right people to work with. but, at the end of the tunnel always there's a light. so, be patient, and keep the search up. have u tried on forums/webs related to metal from your country? another idea could be to print a few flyers and give them in big shows, you know, it's all about numbers, more you try, more chances you'll get.

Probably a no brainer, but I'll say it at the risk of looking ridiculous anyways - you're posting flyers in music stores, right?

Good hunting!!

Putting some flyers on big gigs, big clubs, and big studios will help. There you will find real musicians that take music seriously.

Hi Guys, thought I'd update you all with the band situation... last night we auditioned a bassist & drummer (they already knew each other and came together) and they rocked big time !

I noticed their ad on joinmyband.com.. they were looking to start a band that were interested in playing Maiden, Metallica etc.. so I got in touch. They came up and we went through Wrathchild by Maiden and it was incredible ! I know the song but we've never played it in a band scenario and it all just clicked biggrin.gif

We also did Bells and Creeping Death by Metallica .. we've always used those songs to audition people or warm up with.. but Wrathchild was something else entirely. Will have to record it one day smile.gif

Thanks again for all your tips and good vibes, it must have worked ! cool.gif
