pretty much my favorite band right now. extremely technical, ungodly heavy, and blazing fast. they play 7 and 8 string guitars, and have some ridiculously complex songs.

Awesome band. They're almost as bad as Dream Theater about switching time signatures. Very technical cool band.

I've been interested in this band for a while but I haven't heard a song by them that made me want to get off my butt and buy one of thier albums, until now, the songs from their new album sound amazing.

yea their old stuff seems really generic but the new stuff is like OMG! crazy guitar techniques and its just so heavy my favorite song is Sane or Shred of the album CHAOSPHERE and Catch 33!.. honestly.. a song called Shred it really is great stuff..

All I hear are boring riffs and stupid time signatures.

Time sigs seems like the cliche thing to do when it comes to extreme music.

I have to say that I agree with you, but also that I strongly disagree.

I used to hate Meshuggah for the r e asons VinceG posted, but then I wanted to listen to their new stuff, because they are so respected that they had to be good. And well, now I'm torn between love and hate. Sometimes when I listen to them it's so amazing and I can't stop believing how good they are, and other times they are the most boring band ever. I have no idea why I have this kind of relationship with their music, but I find it really interesting

The constant polyrhythms and repetitiveness of Catch-33 make it become a really dull album, imo, theres nothing breakthrough about 6 riffs in 13 songs.

Chaosphere is better but its still an aquired taste.
