I came up with this rhythm part and thought at first that it was in A minor. It was only when I made the melody that I found that it was in fact in B Locrian. Thanks Ear Training and Theory! I personally love this type of evil sounding riff. 🤘 Another cool thing you can try is a riff with E Phrygian dominant notes: --------------- --------------- --------------- --------------- -------2-3----- -0-1-4--------- And these chords: --------------- --------------- --------------- --------------- -2-3----------- -0-1----------- You can then jam using E minor pentatonic scale or even better A Harmonic minor 👌 Keep it up mate! I want to developp my aural skills and knowledge of theory. I did three short songs in a row and recorded them (one in a major key, one in a minor key and this last one). They are on my Youtube channel. I'm planning on doing some serious songwriting in the near future (drums and midi programming). I keep these ideas and will definitely extend the ones I love the most.
