Hey guys, i'm just practicing some sweeps, but I'd like to know if i'm learning that technique right
So here is the link to the lesson which my question is about :

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...weeping-lesson/

I've posted my question in feedbacks a few time ago but don't have any responses so maybe Somebody could answer me now, that'll be great, thanks ! smile.gif

My question was :

In the video #1, Pavel explains the picking :

e|--19-p-15-----------15--19-p-15------------15---
b|-----------17----17--------------17-----17------
g|--------------16---------------------16---------
d|------------------------------------------------
a|------------------------------------------------
e|------------------------------------------------

He says "DOWN" when picking the G string.
If i pick it UP because it's easier for me then down down, am i learning wrong ?

Or there's no rule for that ?

There's no wrong about picking up, down, down.
It's the way Rusty Cooley do it for example. If you feel that's more comfortable for you then you should stick with that. smile.gif
Pavel do it like Micheal Angelo Batio... and so do I cool.gif laugh.gif But just do what feels right for you wink.gif

I also pick UP so I don't think there's a rule here.

I believe 99% of players would play
downstroke on G string in that lick.
Mainly because you have 4 notes groups,
first group starts with first note as supossed
and second group starts with that note on G string.
And it feels kind a natural to change picking direction
in order to accent beginning of second group of notes.
But of course you do it as you wish,no rules. smile.gif
