GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Blood For Blood - Bloodshed

Posted by: Jakub Luptovec Jan 5 2008, 09:33 PM

Hia guys:)

I am a fan of no longer existing, not too well know, but great band. They played rather simple music - kind of hardcore punk, but with strong metal taste. They had really heavy rythmic and good lyrics..

In one of their songs (bloodshed) there is a small solo - thats extremely fluid, speeds up the song incredibly, and then just passes away into another verse.. I just figured that its minor pentatonic, and thats all:-D At the end of the solo is something that sounds to me like legato/bend/tapping/speedpicking lick:-D I really cant identify the notes, nor technique behind this, but it sounds so coool:(

Sadly, there is no link on youtube - but I can post it here as MP3 for you to listen - but I dont know, if I am allowed to upload a whole song:-)

Phoenix

EDIT: Someone moved my topic?:-D I thought, it is guitarist/technique analysis:) srry for bad placement;)

EDIT2: HERE IS YOUTUBE LINK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tb_AoE4w1mU the solo is around 1:00

Blood for Blood have solos??? biggrin.gif That's something new!
By the way the style is "Old School Hardcore" - very similar to Hardcore Punk, but has developed later. I really regret that I missed them 3-4-5 years ago here because I had no money. Damn I should have loaned from someone :/

I hope someone with better trained ears than me will help you! :]

Ye, in few of their songs there is a solo - Livin' in exile. Btw. do you have an idea, if I can upload it here?

If it's covered by copyright then I'm afraid not Jakub - a link stays the right side of the line but not an upload.
Sorry.

Cheers,
Tony

edit: spelling

That may depend on the provenance of the torrent and the torrent site Hristian - ie if they breach copyright then they fall foul of our 'we don't condone illegal file sharing' policy. I'll check with the other mods though to see if about a link though.

Tony

Oh and until us mods have had a chance to discuss - please don't post any torrents or links to them smile.gif .

Cheers,
Tony

Hi Hristian (and any other interested member),
Thanks by the way for raising the question. We've discussed torrents and here's our policy:

Before attempting to post a link to a torrent or torrent site please contact a moderator by pm. We will require you to be able to demonstrate to our satisfaction that the torrent and/or torrent site is legal before you can post the link. If you can't then I'm afraid that we can not accept the link. Any link to a torrent or torrent web site that is not cleared by a moderator in this way will be removed.

Cheers,
Tony
