I so like where this thread is going smile.gif I will try to see how things are going with the Ads for Aria today.

We had a band meeting yesterday and we decided it's a good promo activity to include in our campaign for the upcoming EP in October smile.gif

Thanks once again Brandon!

My thoughts

How you address people on your page. Maybe call them friends or supporters rather than fans (I'd go with friend, all they've done is clicked 'like' you have yet to give them a completed product to be a fan of yet!

Teasers and updates, I'd leave the sound clips about Time Sig change to places like here, and just post the more completed clips on the page. So maybe give less of the thought process of the songs, maybe show quick clips of you recording (I know it ruins workflow)

Pictures, Everyone likes to look at pictures! You'd get loads of response if you could get a video of a kitten rocking out to your music!

Are you going to have vocals? Nothing on your page suggests it's an instrumental project, (I know lyrics and Drums are the hardest thing when it comes to writing). Are you going to audition for a vocalist? AW IDOL !!!!!!

Please take my feedback and thoughts positively (I really want to see you and help you succeed) I was just looking around your page trying to think 'What would I want to see here and what would make me keep coming back and interacting'

You are making me feel frustrated that I don't have a pc powerful enough to start my own projects yet and making me feel like a slacker because you are working hard on the EP and I'm just noodling around at home, even though I have plans for a Rock project and an acoustic project.

Bran, got a question - are you still using the ads or this growth has triggered itself (you know, a big number of fans attracts more and more making the number grow exponentially)?

Hey Coz, I think it is both. I have a few dollars left in the ads, so it may be the ads more than anything. It's just weird because sometimes I will be sitting there and one right after the other, BOOM BOOM BOOM like like like. biggrin.gif I will try to remember to reply to this thread when the coupons run out.

Hey Fire, I noticed that part with the synths is the one you had guitar/drums (bass?) only on Faceobok before, the one you let your grandpa listen too? I still like that part, but I think the chaos of the synths take away from the heavy impact/groove of the simplistic riffing.

So you think that chorus is better without the synths? The chorus is the one I let my grandpa listen to. Anybody else think that too? I like the beginning arpeggios and perhaps I could use them somewhere else.

I think that the synths could be a good idea in the chorus context, but I would choose a tone which sounds better a little more buried in the mix. By that, I meant that the synths shouldn't be so obvious as is there will be a vocal line, it should be on top and the synths would take the attention of the listener away from the vocal line.

Pfff, hope I made sense biggrin.gif

OK, thanks Coz. smile.gif That makes sense to me. I guess it's okay for people not to hear every single note. It can be a fill in. It makes sense that having synths all the way through could be overwhelming. And I will tweak the sound some more. wink.gif Thoughts from anyone else?
