Welcome to this new collaboration!

This exercises is open to the first 20 people who sigh up.

In this one, the goal is to create the most memorable melody. To do that, don't rely on scales and licks, but sing over the backing track several times until you find something that you like and that the listener is likely to remember.
Then, reproduce that on your instrument and upload your takes in the upload thread.

Here is the backing track. Tempo is 73 bpm.

Attached File  Playbacks_73_bpm.mp3 ( 927.66K ) Number of downloads: 285

Deadline for this is March the 23 (Easter sunday)...

Have fun!

I will try it. I just want to ask something. Should I just right a melodic solo to the backing track or should I try and make it sort of brian mayish. Also at the end of the backing track am I meant to write a melody that leads into something. Sorry if this seems a stupid question this is my first collab looking forward to it.

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

It doesn't have to be Brian Mayish.. As long as the melody comes from you! :-)

A lot of people signing up, that's awesome!!!!

I'd like to try my arm at slinging some metal strings. "I'm in" if there is space.
