They are still going to use RW on the Pro series and AVRI series only. Elites and all Fender Mexico guitars will no longer have it.

Sourse is from a dealer but the info was erased (probably requested by Fender) so sorry no links.

Whatever they can get for cheap. My fretboard on all three of my Fave Ibby guitars is Rosewood. Now that it's going to be a bit more rare, guitars with it may get a bump in pricing on the used market.

This is the effect of the new cites rule that was annaunced sometime ago https://reverb.com/news/new-cites-regulatio...osewood-species

Likely Maple only, atleast for a while. Gibson tried baked maple that looked like rosewood a few years ago but the market didn't respond well to it, I guess thats why guitar makers don't feel ready to try new material yet.

I actually prefer maple, I'd have it on every axe I own if it were an option when I bought them. I just prefer it's look and sound to rosewood. Sadly, all my ibbys are rosewood! smile.gif

I specifically like 1 piece necks from Fender where the fretboard isn't glued but part of the neck. I hate veneer used on maple fretboard but they seem to abandone it slowly.
