Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Nielzsz,

This was a good attempt but from the video I can see that you're approaching sweep picking slightly wrong.. rather than sweeping the strings you're picking them individually.. you're picking the right directions eg. all down.. and then all up.. but you need to let the pick roll through the strings in a continuous motion, rather than use separate movements for each string. It can be tricky to do at slower speeds but stick with it !! smile.gif

Apart from that, your timing was good and so was your hand co-ordination !

I agree with Ben about your picking hand. Keep attention also to some slide notes like around 0:25.

Hey Nielzsz!

That was a pretty good take, although I completely agree with Ben on the matter. When I practice sweeping I do it like this: Fret the desired note, pick it and immediately hit the following string with the pick without producing a sound. I fret the following note and do the same. Same thing when I come down. When I slowly speed it up, it becomes a single motion with my picking hand giving it a feel like I sweep across the strings, that's why it is called sweeping.

Cheers
