Does anyone use a Decimator? And if so does it help out alot with the strings you are not playing buzzing?

Well not really,it's doesn't work that way I think.
It's just like any Noise Reduction unit,it'll hide noise and hum which is most often
at high gain settings,on single coil pickups in 90% cases.
As for the string muting, you'll have to do that part by yourself. smile.gif

I havent tried this one, but i do know that the Boss NS-2 noise supressor is one of the best on the market. Unlike most noise-supressors, it doesnt alter the tone in a bad way.

But like stated above, it doesnt mute strings.. it only helps with removing noise

NS-2 is great as well.
I've read some good stuff about Decimator tho,
like work smoother while doing reduction or som.
But this Boss pedal is fine, and less expensive if I'm right. wink.gif

It's important to emphasize that a noise gate only removes hum when you are not playing - so it never "cleans up" your playing.

Noise gate erase the "humm" noise when you don't play guitar. It's easy to use, you chose the db that noise is gonna erase... for instance if you choose -40dB all the noise from -50dB is gonna be erased. BTW if you play a harmonic you would have problems because harmonics have low volumen and maybe this gate would erase it if you put the gate too high...

(WOW it's really difficult to explain it in English !!!! hehehe)

Lol. Love the name of the device biggrin.gif Decimator for Noise reduction smile.gif It doesn't help stop buzzing from other strings no unfortunately. Only your left hand and right hand can be used for that sad.gif

SUre it muted the strings... it also helps to get a more concrete sound, better bends, precise picking.. cool.gif

just kidding, this baby has only one pot and it says "dB" on it. It means that it gates everything bellow current "dB" value. It doesn't have pots saying "dB of the strings buzzing" or similar smile.gif

That's good that you understand and can use English well. There are a few parts of English language that are very complicated but fortunately they are used very little smile.gif
