Hi Cosmin
I had a look at BC13.
There a few vibrato on the high e string. Now, my vibrato is weak, and Ben Vibrato Odyssey no 5 is in my bookmark. In the meantime do you have any suggestions regarding this specific issue?
Thanks in advance
Carmine

Hello Carmine! Vibrato is a quintessential technique for any instrument player out there, not only for guitarists, so you have two options here - either work on vibrato with Ben's Vibrato Odyssey lesson number 1 - as the side to side vibrato is efficient on the high E string - check it out bellow:

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Bens-Vibrato-Odyssey/

or work on the vibrato in its more general vertical version, as you see in my video here:

See the way in which the wrist works at 0:19? The whole hand helps not only the fingers smile.gif You could hone this skill, by choosing various notes on the neck and applying the technique as you see it in the video.

What do you think?

thanks for your answer on the REC zone. I was wondering, the timing issue could it be done by the wrong sync of video and audio?

Hey Carmine, my thoughts are that no, the timing issue is something that you hear in comparison with the backing. So we could tell it even if you would've posted the audio only.

Please try the recording over the original recording method, in order to be able to notice the differences, as a first step, ok? I'd be very curious to see this video as well wink.gif

Hey Carmine,

I think that aside from a little hesitation around 0:35, you have matched the lesson very nicely smile.gif Maybe the vibrato could be a bit stronger, but this comes in time and with practice, of course wink.gif

Now, can you match the same level of correct playing with the backing track only? smile.gif

Hey Carmine!

Good work here! The only things I'd want you to focus on, at the current moment would be:

- 0:20 and 0:38 - you rushed a bit here smile.gif
- the vibrato should be stronger and more in pitch - don't forget the wrist motion and keeping the pitch of the note by vibrating around the axis of the string.

Each note is found on each string in a certain spot, right? If you vibrate too much downwards or upwards, you will go far from the pitch of that note, so please try thee following drill:

- take each of the notes in the lesson that have vibrato
- vibrate them separately having in mind my suggestion above
- implement them in the context and notice the changes smile.gif

What say you, good Sir?

Hello Carmine! Before shifting your focus towards Ben's lesson, please take some time to try my suggestions in the last post, as they will also prepare you for Ben's lesson. What do you say? smile.gif

You will definitely have a new set of skills ready when tackling that one, which is not so easy as it seems smile.gif It develops your vibrato indeed, but you need to be a bit accustomed to the technique beforehand, so that's why my single note exercises will prove useful - my opinion wink.gif
