I recently heard about to tune a guitar in steps of perfect fours, means to adjust the tuning of the B and high E string to C and F.
Standard tuning : E A D G B E Tuning in 4ths : E A D G C F
I think it's an interesting idea and places the notes quite symmetrical on the fretboard. I suppose i will be completely lost if i would try it, but it sounds like to have some advantages when improvising and moving through different chord progressions.
Someone have experiences with this tuning or is actually using it? I would like to hear your thoughts ..
