Exactly - I really am not a fan of DRM and protection exactly because it penalizes the very people you should be treating the best - paying users sad.gif

In the end it comes down to the integrity of the members of GMC. (since saving the lessons is really simple)
The stronger the community feeling the better, than people won't be posting the lessons on the net.

Effective protecting of digital files is very difficult (I know, I'm a photographer and have the same problems with copying, especially for internet use). Lots of big companies have tried all kinds of copy protection and copyright protection, and up till now nobody has found a usable and reliable solution.

imho, the best solution for GMC is to keep the community feeling as strong possible, make everyone aware that you're part of something special...

Problem is that, in the end, you only need one "bad apple"

Signing this!
One is enough and having strong community might prevent piracy.

Just my 2 cents.....i think it would be very usefull to have the lessons offline, but i totaly understand that this would be a high risk. It would be a pity if somebody abuses that.
Well let me say, Kris and all other GMC stuff doin a real good job, that deserves praise! smile.gif And the price is REALY fair, a fair price is rare this days.
Kris you've my respect smile.gif

Ok here's an idea, how bout just making the FIRST videos of each lesson downloadable?
anyone can view them anyway, so it would cause no harm, and I think it would serve as a grat tool , both as visual aid and also possible to use as a backing track.

...but the damage will still be done.

Indeed, if one person were to give the files to just two people, those two could give it to four (two each), those four could give it to eight, and it could multiply to the hundreds in a matter of seconds. After that, theres no way to get the lessons back. Then, GMC as a site and community suffers.

Please don't DRM stuff. It's annoying and ends up being a pain in the butt for paying customers, but pirates will remove the DRM. And, very important, it will limit users choise of OS and applications and so on.
