Hi,

I use garageband and I met the following problem. When I'm using a backing track, most of the time, it doesn't fit with garage band tempo and time subdivision.

For instance, the backing track tempo is "120.05", and after a few measures, there's a shift between garage band time subdivision and the backing track. Or, sometimes, the tempo match, but the back track first beat doesn't correspond exactly to the beginning of the song.

It's not a problem if I just want to record over the BT, but it becomes a problem if I want to do some track editing, or use the metronome over the track (it can be useful sometimes).

Anyway, I'm sure others have encountered this problem. Is there a way to solve this in GB, or in similar software?

Thanks,
Philippe

I'm working on this lesson:

http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...maiden-lesson2/

I have trouble with the "dave murray patented legato".

2 questions:
- shall I try to go as fast as possible, or rather respect some fixed time subdivision (like 16th notes for instance). I suspect it's as fast as possible, but sometimes it makes it harder to stay in time right after the trill. Maybe I'm just not fast enough

- usually, to do a proper pull-off, one has to slightly pull the string downward in order for the string to vibrate. Is it the same in that case? cause if I do it, the trill is too slow, and if I don't do it, it is not loud enough (btw, I don't use a lot of gain).

Thanks,
Phil

Damn it. That was one of the easiest solo I could find, and still, impossible to do any better than this after many takes!!!

Anyway, any comment welcome, as usual.

When trying to play the "triad and comping" lesson, I realized I was unable to perform those kinds of very fast and precise strums: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Triads_Comping/

It's hard to be at the same time fast, precise with dynamic consistency. Any tip or specific exercise to achieve this technique? I suppose there's no big secret here apart from practicing. But any advice is welcome anyway. Does using a soft pick help?

Can you count loud the beat (for instance 1 - 2 - 3 - 4) when playing (intricate) guitar parts?

I've been told it's a good exercise to develop rhythm, which makes sense. What do you think?
