Cratylus that Plato uses in his 'Cratylus' did exist and was a student on Heraclitus (also spelt Heraclietus). Plato studied both Heraclitus and Cratylus and both argued a pre-socratic concept of flux. (That's according to Allen's comments in his revised edition of Plato's 'Parmenides' - don't have Cratyclus to hand though so afraid I can't check that.)
