Well problem is, that I have the test from last year and those questions are really hillarious...

I will post two of them... kudos to who knows them..

When Kratylos said "You cannot enter the same river not even once", he wanted to say that:
A) nothing exists
cool.gif nothing lasts
C) we cannot distinguish subject from object

I know just similiar quote from herakleitos but thats something completely different... Or is there some sort of catch? His name isnt even on our wikipedia and now thats something.. my books dont mention him other that he was a student of Herakleitos (that enclares, why he changed and used Herakleitos's statement)

Antinomy in Kants "Criticism of clear sense" is ment to:
a) criticise the nondemocracic governments
cool.gif criticise traditional ethical endeavour
c) criticise traditional metaphysical endeavour

What the heck? Does this mean, that they expect, that I red that book? I dont really understand what those ethical/metaphysical endeavours ment...

Any guess?

Interesting questions, still didn't read that Kant...
I hope you read Sofia's world about history of philosophy.

Sorry to argue with you (I am just a mere apprentice smile.gif) but according to Wiki, Cratylus is a philosopher, about which Platon wrote a book, with his name. I am just a bit confused now, I know that wiki uses to be wrong tho biggrin.gif

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cratylus

Btw. that misunderstanding of Heracleitos is the reason why he is called a Dark Philosopher, I suppose? Because he is hard to understand to

Btw2. I am sorry, but I maybe messed book names etc. because I translated them to english myself biggrin.gif

Addendum to my previous post Jacob - and sorry for the confusion...

Cratylus that Plato uses in his 'Cratylus' did exist and was a student on Heraclitus (also spelt Heraclietus). Plato studied both Heraclitus and Cratylus and both argued a pre-socratic concept of flux. (That's according to Allen's comments in his revised edition of Plato's 'Parmenides' - don't have Cratyclus to hand though so afraid I can't check that.) As I have it though it was Heraclitus who originated the 'river' analogy.
