Zeppelin!

Highway Star, Smoke on the Water, Child in Time, Strange Kind of Woman, Lazy... all great songs from a great band.

But there's only one of The Mighty Zep! I have all of their albums, I-IV, Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti, In Through the Out Door. Jimmy Page, John Bonham, John Paul Jones and Robert Plant.

Did somebody say I was a Led Zeppelin fan? biggrin.gif

If you had compared Deep Purple with just about anyone else I probably would have picked them....

But when compared to, for me, the greatest group ever assembled in Led Zeppelin it is a no brainer.... LED ZEPPELIN!!!

Jimmy Page is the whole reason I wanted to learn how to play guitar. I have everything they ever put out to be listened to. So much great music. Deep Purple are amazing as well but for me no one compares to the mighty ZEPPELIN!!

rok

PS: And also for me there is only one band that covered Zeppelin and sounded good and that is Heart! They do an amazing job... and were also very heavily influenced by Led Zeppelin. There is just something about that Zeppelin sound and feel to the music. It's magical and hard to replicate... Deep Purple just doesn't have the same feel for me.

Can't agree more! That's exactly what happens to me when I compare this two bands. Deep Purple is awesome but Led Zeppelin is over everything.

That cover by Hear is so good! smile.gif

Gabriel... I think we share a brain cell when it comes to music laugh.gif We have such similar tastes and agree on a lot... great minds think a like I guess wink.gif

Heart does a lot of great covers by Led Zeppelin... Black Dog, Rock N Roll, Whole lot of Love, Gallows Pole too name a few. I love Heart! Nancy Wilson has some killer chops on guitar and Anne can sing with the best of them. They are like the female Robert and Jimmy biggrin.gif

I prefer Ritchie Blackmore's guitar playing but I prefer Zeppelin's music. There's just something about Zep.. we can all associate listening to their albums with a certain time or place in our life. It's a bit like 'Where were you when...' it's the same with Zep albums smile.gif
