New Opeth Track

Its not without its charm Ive been listening to it quite a bit over the last few days. I thought the solo was really cool, it starts all arabian sounding but then moves into a more standard rock type of thing. Im looking forward to their new album, should be interesting. I remember Mikael saying that he was influenced by the sound of 'Holy Diver' by DIO. I'm glad of that because I also think that album has a brilliant production. It reminds me very much of the Martin Birch produced albums by Maiden, MSG, Rainbow etc. The only thing I wasn't too sure of was I thought he overdid it with the vocals a bit.. we all know he can do that boyband 'voice breaking thing' but here he does it a bit too much for my taste.
