Hi guys!
I am doing my first night as DJ in the weekend! Nothing special and nothing fancy, but I am still looking forward to free beer and playing my own music really loud for several hours tongue.gif

To business: The theme is 70s/hippe-inspired rock.
I already have the obvious one mapped: Jimi, Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, etc.

But I would love some more tips, and especially cool songs that not so many have heard of that could spice up the set smile.gif

that sounds very cool to me smile.gif

I'd be playing some early Alice Cooper, Hawkwind and Sabbath, you probably have thought of those but also -

Captain Beyond

Atomic Rooster

Leaf Hound

You can always spice things up with some disco/funk tunes - some James Brown, Boney M, Funkadelic - that sort of stuff, also, Cream, Deep Purple smile.gif

This one should make the people get up and jam!

Some lovely suggestions Neil smile.gif. I always particularly liked 'I had too much to dream last night' as a song. To me Gong can depend on which version of Gong turn up. A little OT - did you see Don Van Vleet/Beefheart on the OGWT 1970s program on BBC4 last week?

A few others to consider:

Bowie, Marc Bolan/T Rex, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Chocolate Watch Band, Spirit, Blue Oyster Cult.

looks really good. I like how you put the blues pills in there, they have a great 70s sound and Elin Larsson has such a great voice.
