I missed this one from Gibson's "Guitar of the Month" series...this being GOTM from May 08... Something for you guys that are always looking for pickups to try. Apparently, there's a Les Paul that you can just pop the pickups out and pop others in. This version's US$4500 though. -------------------- Guitars: ESP Semi-Hollow Eclipse, 1984 Ibanez Roadstar RS440, Peavey T-60, Daisy Rock Rock Candy Custom

Yep, this is actually the idea behind this guitar, and it is of course a nice one if you are changing pickups a lot. But to be honest, I might test some pickups from time to time, but as soon as I found the right one for a guitar it will never be changed again, so at least I don't really need this option.

Very cool, but how often would you want to change them out? For that price you could have a couple of guitars with different pickups... Thanks for sharing!

Great feature. If all pickups would support this standard, it would make things a LOT easier. It's one of those things that you say: " How come they haven't invent this before?"

Great comcept, but Gibson seem to stay expensive, so I'll problaby never get to own one since I usualy fall in love with cheap to middlepriced guitars ^^

Hmmm. Every guitar shop should have this guitar so that we can try different pickups before buying one

Hmmm. Every guitar shop should have this guitar so that we can try different pickups before buying one That is a very good point. For a regular player who knows the sound, this is a good feature, but for stores this is "ideal" guitar. Too bad it is that expensive. Specs are top class tho. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

Fortunately with this idea, everybody who knows around wood can use it. Just plug two wholes in the body, make brackets, and connectors for pickups. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

For studio work it might really be a nice thing to be able to change pickups fast.

A neat idea indeend, kind of similar to the idea that EMG have with their Quik-connect system where you can change different EMG-pickups with ease. It would be so great for the basic consumer if all the pickup and guitar company's would make their products with this idea in mind. Maybe one day
