Bernard Herrmann did many themes for Hitchcock including Psycho, Vertigo, North by Northwest etc but I have to agree with Gary in that I thought this music was originally in Twisted Nerve....

interested to see the answer as I can't remember it in a Hitchcock film and he's the only director I can think of that worked regularly with Herrmann.

I gave the wrong HINT, guided by that Herman, who composed for Hitchcock a lot of movies, and I simply overlooked that Twisted nerve isn't t Hitchcock's film ! Sorry ,my mistake smile.gif

Kill Bill's whistling resembles Twisted Nerve in that its the EXACT same tune. But the motif originates in " M"(1931. Fritz Lang) , where the killer whistles In the Hall of the Mountain King.
