Whats A Good All Around Single Coil Pickup?, Anybody try the Bareknuckle Single Coils?

I'm looking for a SRV tone, but also some surf guitar and some David Gilmour type tone. I was looking at the GFS Premium Texas pickups, which are cheap ($63 a set, not bad) and have great reviews, but might hold off and get something a bit more expensive. Heres some other ones I've been looking at: Seymour Duncan SSL-1 DiMarzio Area 58 neck and middle, FastTrack 2 in the bridge for crunchier stuff. Problem, is, they're only sold in Brazil. I do have some friends that live there but the shipping costs would negate any savings. I was looking at the EMG DG-20,the David Gilmour prewired pickguard, but thats also quite expensive, $310... ouch. The GFS pickups sound pretty good, my only concern is how reliable they are. You can get a set of 3 for about £60, they don't sound much off a SD or Dimarzio. I have a vintage set in my 80's Tokia strat and it sounds better than my early 70's fender.. Bareknuckle sound amazing but its the age old thing, your set up i only as good as your weakest link, no point having top of the range pickup's and an average guitar or amp... They sound great, nice clean jangley tops (not harsh at all) and full thick mids but with defenition. I think the city limits have a slighltly higher output and are better with overdrive. I can fully recomend them and there pretty cheap too....
