I did it with a 'nighthawk'. It fell and busted just from the height of leaning against a wall for 30 seconds that I took my eye off it. Easy fix. Every decent luthier can fix a Gibson headstock break/crack ... because they have to do it all the time, lol! There's barely an LP made before 1980 that doesn't have a headstock crack/break. He's busted it TWICE! and the guitar still sounds fantastic. It's a rare example of an 80's model that isn't too heavy and sounds great with the stock pkups. Still plays as good as ever. The accident happened when it was leaning on my couch and just slipped from a bad angle onto a soft carpet... fractured the headstock by the neck. The way these headstocks are shaped and angled it doesn't take very much to crack one! I am much more conscience where I lean my guitars since then!
