I saw this a while ago, looks interesting. More like a game than a real instrument, but cool.

I guess its just another interface, you can do that on your pc Yeah, that's the thing...on the sequencing/synthesis back end there's nothing unusual about it. It's the interface that's the thing here. The demo doesn't really do this thing much justice. It's mostly a tech demo. Bjork was using one at Coachella this year, but I haven't seen any really good looking/sounding video recordings of it to link to. For electronic music, sampling and synthesis, basically most of your controllers haven't changed much in the last 30 years. You have a piano-style keyboard. You have sliders, pots and MPC-style pads. Not a lot else. With better touch screens recently, you have stuff like the Lemur now which makes things interesting. It's interesting to people like me because I can think of some ways I could use it. It gets you out of the button/key mashing that you tend to do when doing electronic music or working with samples. It's more of a organic interface making it more physical...sound source is modified by its orientation and its proximity to other objects, both sound source and source modifiers (filters). Good stuff. Way out of my budget but I'd use it if someone gave me one. -------------------- Guitars: ESP Semi-Hollow Eclipse, 1984 Ibanez Roadstar RS440, Peavey T-60, Daisy Rock Rock Candy Custom

That's a cool hi-tech toy, I'm not quite sure if it can be used as a proper instrument though

Good stuff. Way out of my budget but I'd use it if someone gave me one. You have a strong point there Scott, this interface is a step forward. But it is not a very practical step either. There's a reason why faders and knobs rule the electronic world - simplicity of use. This one IMO more looks good then works good. But I guess we'll be seing these a lot in the years to come, witch can only be a good thing. If they can make it work as good as they look, that will truly be a great interface. On top of that add a small price tag and... -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

Allthough, the only thing I'm impressed of, is the interface. I can't say I would like one of those.. -------------------- GMC is not just a website... It's a lifestyle!
